- It was not easy for Ritu Jaiswal, head of the Singhwahini Panchayat in Sitamarhi district of Bihar.
- While making the road, the people of the village were not ready to leave an inch of land. After explaining to the people, the roads are being built.
- Ritu supervises the development work itself. For this, he is ever seen riding a bike and then he is on the tractor and JCB.
15 years after marriage, husband's village
In a conversation with dainikbhaskar.com, Ritu said that in 1996, I got married to 1995 batch IAS (Allied) Arun Kumar.
I used to live with her husband for 15 years of marriage. Once I told my husband that marriage has been so many years. I have not been in-laws till today. Should run once. Listen to me, people have been ready to go to Narkatiya village from the house.
- Just before the village reached, the car got stuck in the mud. Every attempt to remove the car was useless, we rode on the bullock cart and proceeded. When some go away, bullock cart also got trapped in mud. This incident inspired me to do something for the development of the region.
- I started living in the village and started teaching girls. In 2015, 12 girls of Narkatiya village passed the matriculation examination for the first time.
- In 2016 I contested for the post of Leader of the Sanghvihini Panchayat. There were 32 candidates against me. People said that you will lose. There are only five members of your caste. Votes get on the basis of caste. I did not believe and I won.
One inch of the land was not ready to leave the village
- Ritu said tender several times to make the main road of the village. Some anti-social elements began to cling, causing tender to cancel. Now the work has started again.
During this time, the people of the village were not ready to leave their one-inch of land for the road.
- People had to work hard to explain. I told how the village would not be built if the road was not formed. How will your children go out of the village? You do farming. If you sell him in the market then you will get more money. When the sick people of the village will not go out of the village then how will they be treated. These things happened to the people and they agreed to give land one by one.
Panchayat open open defecation
Ritu says that the Singhwahini Panchayat was liberated from going out of the open in 2016. There are 7 groups in this Panchayat.
- PCC road has become in many neighborhoods. Chapakal tap and power have reached. For 40 years, my panchayat only got electricity on paper. Now electricity has reached the village.
The girls of the village taught the computer
- Making a group of 150-150, the children of Panchayat are being taught free of cost. There are only girls in the teaching village.
- First I had trended 20 girls. It was not possible to make people alone aware. After this, computer training was given. They are teaching computers to all children. Many girls are teaching women stitching and embroidery. For this, cooperation from government to NGO is being taken.
It is worth mentioning that Ritu has also received the highly educated head award. Along with this, he also got many awards for the development of the Panchayat.
